Article Facilitation

Date: April 23, 2024

You will need to choose one peer-reviewed journal article related to a weekly topic. You have two options:

Here’s what you need to do:

Choose your article:

1. You can pick from the provided list: https://childpsy2024sp.commons.gc.cuny.edu/articles/ (if any are available on this topic).

2. Or, find your own peer-reviewed article on the topic using the library database: https://libguides.lehman.edu/az.php?a=a

      • Follow the steps outlined:
        • Click “PsychArticles”
        • Sign in with your CUNYFirst credentials
        • Search for “Prenatal Development United States” (or specific subtopic)
        • Filter by “Full Text” and “Peer-reviewed journals”
        • I would prefer you select an “Open Access” article, but if that’s not possible, its ok.

I also show how to find a peer-reviewed article in this recording:  How to search for an article  Passcode: @umf9%R^

On the scheduled day for the topic, four students will be responsible for leading the discussion. You can choose to work on this task individually or in a group (up to you!). You must select the article one week before your time is up (I will remind you). You’ll be responsible for:

    • Briefly summarizing the chosen article.
    • Opening up the discussion for the class.
    • Engaging other students with questions, additional media, real-world connections, or activities.
